Array presented my senior history thesis to a crowd of maybe 20 people, didn’t puke or otherwise embarrass myself, in fact may have fooled people into thinking I am a professional
7. recieved compliment on presentation telling me I should consider being a teacher, appreciated the thought despite all lack of teaching in my possible future plans
6. Which is a good thing, because I had to frikin beat each ingredient one at a time and egg whites and combining carefully and sifting and all sorts of crap that is way different than adding an egg to a cake mix.

That is what he’d truly love to be.5 The reason Cincinnati went from turf to grass is because they needed something to wrap Marge Schott in when they dumped her in the river (that might be in poor taste but she was a racist bigot).4 Alex Rodriguez is a robot and if you open up his head you will find that he is powered by two hamsters working in tandem on a wheel. Scientists are working round the clock to find a more efficient power source in hopes that they can find the energy to power the personality sub-routines but as of yet no progress has been made as of yet.3 The reason Hank Blalock is so slow is because he is weighed down with rubble that he must gradually disperse in the field.

The Top 10 weirdest keyboards ever - Fosfor GadgetsIf you’re in the market for a new keyboard, check these out. The most difficult thing about this keyboard is that absence of tactile feel when typing, but that’s only because weve become so used to tapping a key. Most sci-fi keyboards you see deal with tapping on a window of some kind, so this doesn’t really seem to far out there. The other keyboard that interests me is the frogpad.

But the God of the Bible hates people, right along with the sin (and figs, rags, shrimp, cephalopods, and Christmas trees). — Malachi 1:3, Romans 9:13 So the Bible-God hates some people (foreign nations, workers of iniquity, wicked people, and liars, to name a few). But there is only one person (that I know of) that God hates by name.

That was about as much electricity as we had without overloading the extension cord, but this evening is much nicer and we’re getting along with only the fantastic fan pulling some air through the open windows and keeping comfortable. We had a hankering for Chinese food this evening, so we went into town and found a place that also had a Mongolian BBQ. Oh well, we gave it a try.We are on the waiting list at this campground for full hookups, so hopefully tomorrow we’ll have plenty of electricity and also water hookups so we don’t have to listen to this noisy on board water pump every time we use any water.

With Europe and Asia accounting for more than half of the world’s economic output and home to six of every 10 millionaires, the banks and securities firms that expanded internationally stand to benefit most.Bank of America is largely a play on the U.S. and it’s suffering more because the domestic economy has been growing at sub-3 percent,” said Chris Hagedorn, who helps oversee about 2 billion at Cincinnati-based Fifth Third Asset Management, which owns shares of Citigroup, Bank of America and Wachovia. He says the U.S. represents the best opportunity because it’s still the world’s single biggest source of banking, brokerage and money-management fees.We do better when we play to our strengths, and our strengths are in the U.S.,” Lewis said in a June 19 interview in New York. For now, the geographic divide between U.S. banks is growing, and it may widen even further this week when the five largest, Citigroup, Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase & About 671 billion euros of the growth will come from abroad.Other markets are going to grow faster than the U.S. for the foreseeable future,” said Michael McKeon, managing partner in the financial services practice of consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton in New York.If anything, Bank of America’s Lewis is doubling down on the U.S. His agreement to buy ABN Amro Holding NV’s Chicago-based LaSalle Bank unit for 1 billion won the backing of the Dutch Supreme Court on July 13. He predicts that Bank of America can boost earnings per share by 10 percent a year just by gaining a greater share of the U.S. market and making selective investments overseas.Bank of America became the nation’s largest private bank earlier this month with the .3 billion acquisition of U.S. Trust Corp. That’s when long-term rates decline and short-term rates increase, narrowing the spread banks earn on the difference between rates on deposits and loans. Now, with the collapse of the U.S. subprime-mortgage market and the decline in house prices, banks also face bigger losses on home-equity debt and loans to homebuilders, Citigroup analyst Keith Horowitz wrote in a July 10 research note.Wachovia and San Francisco-based Wells Fargo, the fifth- biggest U.S. bank, both generate less than 5 percent of their revenue from abroad. Now, banks like Bear Stearns, Wachovia and Bank of America are finding entrenched and stiff competition from U.S. banks that were there before,” Questa said.

-ne According to press reports available on line at Haaretz and Ynet, more than 200 settlers were evicted today from 3 flats in Hebron. Soldiers and police were injured by the settlers, who managed to trash the flats before they left. Substantial damage was done to the flats first by the settlers, and then by the police in an effort to keep the settlers from returning. Rabbinic Judaism recognizes the concept of a final redemption for Jews and for humankind, but some rabbis claim that the redemption will come “bit-by-bit” argued whether the State of Israel is merely the beginning of redemption or the actual redemption. Today’s eviction of the settlers is not the actual redemption. Suit after suit will be filed by human-rights groups against the settlers and the Israeli government.

This is coming way late, but figured I needed to get it in there.Race Distance: 1500mTime: 4:23:3Splits: 1:07.62, 2:19:01 (1:11.39), 3:30.93 (1:11:92), 4:23.32 (52.39 for the final 300m)I came into the evening knowing that I was only racing one race, and wanted to perform better than I had at the mile. In last week’s mile, even though I finished strong, I hated how I let myself lag during the race. This time, I had resolved that I wanted to push my pace…forget anyone else.Fortunately, it was to be a good showing. We had the usual character who was shooting for sub-3:50 for 1500m, and he ended up running a 3:54 all by himself. I didn’t even bother with worrying about him. Attending tonight were Brett Riley and Bubba, of the winning Team On The Run, Beach to Bay Marathon Relay Champions. Chris Bittinger, another fellow On The Run-er. Cornelio Garibay, Thomas King, and Leno Moreno were also on hand.Bubba and Cornelio ran the 800m earlier, posting a 2:12 and 2:04, respectively. So, their legs were a little spent, but they had recovered well. Not to mention these are two strong guys. As we discussed pre-race strategies, I just said I wanted to hit 68 to open, and hold on to that as long as I could. We line up, hear the gun and off we go.For those who don’t know the 1500, we start around the first curve, on a curved line right at the start of the back stretch. Right away, the former All-American, who’s name I don’t know, was gone and I paid him no mind. I tried to get out front, as I figured that would help me run a fast time, but a guy who I did not know took over that spot….he was wearing a baggy t-shirt, baggy shorts and spikes. So, I got right on his right shoulder, and followed him around. We hit the finish line (300m into the race) at 50 seconds, and came through our first lap at 67. He maintained his lead through the 2nd lap. I could tell that I wasn’t going to be able to hold 67 pace, and inadvertantly slowed my 2nd lap to 71 seconds. Lap 3 was almost 72 seconds, but was still in the 71s. After 2 full laps, and now 1 lap and 3/4 to go (700m), I decided it was time to start going. I got the lead with 600m to go. We headed into the darkest part of the Rice Track at night…the curve leading us into the front stretch. I could hear what I suspected was Brett Riley right on my heels going by the pretender as we rounded the turn and headed for the front stretch. A little bit into the straight, I decided that it was time to start my kick. The footage of the 1972 5000m race went through my mind. Steve Prefontaine takes the lead with 600m to go and pushed the pace big time, and I remember voice of the commentator saying how much guts Pre was showing This is 600m to go and hes starting an all out kick.”I charged down the front stretch thinking “momentum, momentum, momentum” as I crossed the line. By the end of the front straight and entering the turn to begin the final lap, I heard no more breathing over my shoulder. I could hear no footsteps. 300m to go, and I tried to relax and stride out fast and hard….but I could tell that that final gear was not there. We hit 200m to go, and Im headed into the dark part of the track again, and Im starting to hear the coming assault in footsteps and breathing. They are starting their kicks, I thought to myself. As we got near the straight, I called on my legs for a sprint down the front stretch, but there was nothing there to answer the call. As I drove down the straight with the finish in sight, I thought I could hold them off. Cornelio ran by me hard with about 15-20m to go. Brett Riley followed him, then Dan went by just as we crossed the finish. 5 of us finished within 1.5 seconds of eachother. It was initially disheartening, but as I jogged my 15 minutes of cool down, I felt good. I had laid it out there, put myself out in front, pushed my pace, and got burned. I ran the fastest race that I could have run on Friday. This coming weekend, 800m and Mile are on my mind. Tonight is a track workout. Gotta burn the legs tonight, recover them for 2 days, and Ill be ready to test myself once again.God Bless! Later!

GM is slashing 25,000 jobs. For those of us who are not tied to industrial jobs, we can afford to say, Oh, thats too bad,” and not loose much sleep. But take the 35 year old auto worker. He went to high school and graduated. He then got a job at GM. Just like his father. He can put a windshield on a car is less time than it takes to clip a single fingernail. He can wield a hinge to a T-frame while holding an I-beam, and that hinge will work. Hes probably better at his job than you are at yours. If recent statistics are correct, then he has exactly NO savings. He has about 40,000 in equity from his house, and 2.3 children. Next step: dollar depreciates. If that, then the housing market will decline. Is Bush getting on a plane for him? Is Bush getting up at 1 AM? Now Why? What does he have thats better? Oh, yeah. Tax cuts. And more tax cuts. Bush seems to buy the entire idea that rish people who are more rich dont just buy static things like boats, houses, airplanes with their riches - they advance the economy by being more productive, by being more innovative, by taking more risks, and then enrich us all. Except that seems to be a whole lot of bullshit. As the excellent article shows in anecdotes, a type of data, the rich from old money are just staying in their excellent houses on the Cape, while the new money build theirs to custom specs. Perhaps they could use an ex-autoworker. I dont think this is so far from the truth. A huge proportion of the Bush tax cuts went into home improvements, new homes, new boats, and upgrades from a GIV to GV. And if you dont know what that means, so much the better. One of Bushs great evils is his blind eye. Do you think 25,000 got his attention? Does anyone else smell the impending doom? Does Australia need doctors? At least Englands fall from empire was gentle. I hope ours is as well.

Heading into the sweltering, dingy former beer closet that was a haven for freeloading flies, I surveyed the menu and ordered the pulled pork sandwich with the spicy mac ‘n cheese and a mint limeade. Getting kicked in the ‘nads never felt so good. The pulled pork was Carolina style and heavily soaked in vinegar, which bothers some people but not me. As I alternated between the spicy mac and bits of the peppery pulled pork, beads of sweat began to cascade down my scalp. The pork sat on a plain white bun and the top half had a spread of some creamy and tart coleslaw and two of those neon green pickles, the kind that make Jews cringe but somehow work wonders in barbecue and Southern cuisine. Just as the reviews had advertised, after letting the pork sit on the bun for several minutes, the bun became soaked with precious pork juice and nearly dissolved. I tried the potato salad, which was some of the better potato salad I’ve ever tasted with a lot of fresh dill, but it wasn’t good enough that I’d advise choosing it over the mac. Inside, there was just about zero visible security presence, which was appropriate because for the most part, this crowd was way too cool to be worried about breaking the law. This was my first visit to the Warsaw, and I really dug the space, a small, fairly drab ballroom (I think it holds 600) with a stage that reminded me of an elementary school multipurpose room because of its plain, beige curtains, rudimentary lighting, and American flag off to the side. Did I need to eat pierogies on top on all of the fattening pork and mac and pie and beer I’d already ingested? By the way, I’ve lived in Pittsburgh, a notorious pierogie haven, but these were the best damn pierogies I’ve ever tasted. In my mind, their performance was somewhat like a well-rehearsed play: I got the sense that they weren’t truly improvising, yet they were so committed to their music that it sounded as if they were creating this music for the first time.

The Daily Telegraph has pointed out that only 8% of tickets for matches involving England will be made available to the FA. Whilst people selling tickets on the black market are sure to be overjoyed by this news, I some how doubt this was the intention. So, where are the other 92% of World Tickets going.

Veteran Comic Louis Nye Dies at 92 By JOHN ROGERSAssociated Press WriterLOS ANGELESComedian Louis Nye, who created a national catchphrase belting out Hi, ho, Steverino! as one of the players on Steve Allen’s groundbreaking 1950s TV show, has died. He was 92. Nye died Sunday at his home in Los Angeles after a long battle with lung cancer, his son, Peter Nye, told The Associated Press on Monday. Nye had worked regularly in nightclubs and on television until just a couple of years ago, his son said. He had a recurring role from 2000 to 2002 in the HBO comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm as the father of Jeff Garlin’s character. When he joined Allen’s show in 1956 he was already well established as one the era’s hippest comics, appearing regularly on radio, in clubs and on early TV shows. A master of voices and accents, he could go from being droll one moment to prissy the next. He could also switch effortlessly from comically evil Nazis to bumbling Russians. He has a great business card from that time that lists something like 15 accents that he could do, his son recalled with a chuckle. On The Steve Allen Show, which ran until 1961 under various names, he quickly endeared himself to audiences as Gordon Hathaway, the effete, country-club snob who would welcome Allen’s arrival with the Hi, ho, Steverino! salutation. Other regulars on the landmark show included comedians Don Knotts, Tom Poston and Bill Dana. After the show’s run ended, Nye appeared often on TV game shows, in films and as a regular on The Ann Sothern Show. He was often cast as the second banana, never the lead. Nye appeared as Sonny Drysdale, the prissy son of harried banker Milburn Drysdale, in the debut 1960-61 season of The Beverly Hillbillies. He once said his character was dropped after one season because a CBS executive thought he was too sissified. Nye returned as Sonny for the 1993 TV movie The Legend of the Beverly Hillbillies. Nye teamed with Allen again in 1967, on The Steve Allen Comedy Hour, a CBS show in which he also portrayed Gordon Hathaway. His cohorts included Allen’s wife, Jayne Meadows, Ruth Buzzi and John Byner, among others. In the summer of 1970 he hosted the variety show Happy Days on CBS and three years later co-starred with Norman Fell in the New York garment industry sitcom Needles and Pins. He played Kirby Baker in the 1978 TV show Harper Valley P.T.A. In the 1980s and ’90s Nye provided various voices for the Inspector Gadget cartoon show. His film credits included Cannonball Run II, Won Ton Ton, the Dog Who Saved Hollywood, A Guide for the Married Man, Good Neighbor, Sam and Sex Kittens Go to College. He also guest starred on such shows as St. Elsewhere, The Love Boat, Laverne

I stopped and remember it was my first game in Tuscaloosa and realized that it was about to be 25 years since that first game. So last weekend, there I was back in Tuscaloosa on October 7, 2006, on the same exact weekend twenty-five years later. Nearly directly above those same seats 25 years later and this time my Dad and my Mom were in seats 5 and 6 and my roommate Jeff in seat 3. So during the past couple of weeks I have been thinking back a lot on all the things that have happened in those 25 years and as this weekend has gotten close I have gotten more and more nostalgic and even a little misty eyed. So forgive me as I digress …It was October 3, 1981 and my Dad was taking me to my first Alabama game in Tuscaloosa. Although I had been going to Alabama football games for a couple of years (most of the big games were played in Birmingham), I had never been to a game in Tuscaloosa. I had just turned 11 years old a few weeks before and everything still seemed big and far back then.As I remember about that day my Dad and I loaded up the gray Plymouth Fury (nicknamed the Silver Dollar) and headed out early that October morning. I couldn’t remember where I had put my keys last night but I remember a football score from 25 years ago. The Bear would win 315 against Auburn later that year and become the winningest coach in college football history. My Dad would take me back to Tuscaloosa two years later for my second game there. The President of Egypt would be assassinated in Cairo three days after my first game in Tuscaloosa and later that year a car bomb would exploded in front of the Iraqi Embassy in Beirut and destroy it. I’ve had many good friends and good times in these past 25 years.

Our hotel had windows on 3 sides which made it even colder and the water in our water bottles froze. We spent 2 days in Dingboche to acclimatize (Dingboche is at 4410 m).
